Filming the Second Section
Filming the Second Section of my FMP has been a pretty tough challenge for me, not only because of me filming Thomas' FMP (which I have no ill will to Thomas, I've enjoyed filming it), but also just not having the energy to do it, especially as I spent most of my Easter Holiday working on the EPQ (which I'm currently in the process of making a final presentation about my research).
Despite this, I asked Thomas if I was fine with filming the FMP on Tuesday in addition to hiring him as a background performer for one of the physical media items, which he said yes to. My intention going forward is to finish the rough cut at-least around the end of next week, with the next week afterwards being spent editing the final video and eventually writing the evaluation.
Editing the Second Section
Filming for the Second Section has been completed, but it wasn't without its issues, with two in particular providing a challenge for me.
The first was that during filming, due to how I went with the approach to how the items should move on screen, which has caused the actor's hands to be visible in shots. The second one is that I realised that I forgot to film one close-up of the Matrix DVD, which was meant to be at the very beginning of the section.
To counter both of these, I have zoomed in on the footage that has the actor's hands in it, as I think it'd be too taxing to go back to re-do everything, and as for the close-up, I left the screen black for some time as I inserted a 'PRESENT DAY' timecard to showcase when specifically does it take place.
Another shot that has caused some problems was the shots with HD-DVD, which are vastly too far compared to the shots with the VHS and DVD. I initially glossed over it, owning to how I can't change it and should just leave it as it was.
It was until Annette told me about the shot that I decided to change it, not only did I zoom it in to make it more aligned with the previous shots, but I also colour corrected one of the shots to make it more in line with the other shot for consistency reasons.
I have finished fixing these shots and I believe my editing for the video is fully complete.
